beach mermaids

One day a whole bunch of families that are involved with HCOS (Heritage Christian Online School) were invited to go to the beach. So since we were involved we went and had a blast. There was a sand castle contest, kids being kids, etc. It was lots of fun! :)

Our home-visit teachers youngest child, Aaren (i think! I'm all of sudden really tired and am forgetting a lot of things.....:P)

Melia standing in the middle of where Jared's going to build his sand castle

such a hard worker this kid :)

Daniel helping Jared. And that isn't his shirt, its Anita's! It was just really hot that day, and he did not bring a shirt, so Anita gave him hers. :P

Then, Genevieve (the youngest Columbe kid) wanted Anita and i to make her into a mermaid. So of course we did! =D

Later Melia and Christine (Christine is the 2nd youngest child in the Columbe family) wanted to also be made into mermaids

i love how Gen is relaxed and Christine and Melia are smoothing out their mermaid form :P

I asked them if i should get rocks and write they're names with them and of course they said yes!

(you can certainly tell which girls just watched Little Mermaid, eh? :P)

Don't know what Melia was doing here :P

Christine, deep in thought

Melia, also deep in thought

WOW! They're all deep in thought.
Must be something with the waves.

Popsicle time!! =D

I got this rainbow ball thing, that had all these different coloured candies in them. And i accidentally opened it upside down, and then me being smart (not really) decided to open it the RIGHT way so i now had it opened TWO ways. So it was like melting and ugh! It was NOT a pleasant experience for me,
THAT'S for sure!

Later Isabelle (another Columbe child) wanted to be made into a mermaid so i made her into one but added a bit more detail to it.
I had some helpers (Gen, Christine and Melia) but they ran away before i could get a picture of them....

isn't she a cutie

I do love making people into shapes. If i had had more time, i would have tried some other shapes. :P
What about you? What do you do when you go to the beach?

Have a great week, everyone!
